MAXX uses “soft squelch” to eliminate microphone noise and other ambient sounds. Hearing aid wearers have less need to use the volume control since gain is applied automatically. The MAXX digital Noise Canceler automatically reacts whenever environmental noise is present. The background noise is reduced, while speech is preserved. The tension of a noisy environment is eliminated and wearers can enjoy a whole range of auditory situations in comfort. Additional features of MAXX are feedback control, digital signal processing and an extended battery life.

Phonax’s PowerMAXX integrates maximum digital gain and output into a miniaturized housing, making it ideal for children. It has five independent channels which allow the hearing aid instruments to adapt to meet changing audiometric configurations as more detail on the loss becomes available. DSL is the ideal fitting formula for children who cannot yet describe what they are hearing. By adding the child’s age into the fitting software, the latest age-specific RECD data is applied to enable the age-appropriate corrections.
